In class we had to come up with movies or tv shows that consisted of heroes and villains and that were also listed on our class list. While we were writing down movie names and thinking of who played the protagonist or antagonist we noticed that society was playing a major villain in many of the movie. The heroes were the ones who strayed away from the society norm and faced their conflict straight on. Society is always going to be playing the villain in real life if you think about it. If anyone strays away from any type of a normal routine, it's like the world will end the next day. If someone is different than the rest, we shouldn't shun them from society, we should accept them and appreciate their ideas and personality.
I agree with what you are saying. It seems that movies have a reoccurring theme of who exactly the hero and the villain is. They all seem to be the same, no matter what movie it is.
ReplyDeletePeople judge people all the time. I feel that you should never let anyone's judgement of you stop you from expressing yourself. Even the kid getting shunned is judging society. The kid being shunned probably thinks "Society" is nothing but conformists and they chose to not conform.
ReplyDeleteYup. It's a very common thing in pop culture for the hero to be the one fighting the statuesque of society. To be the one bringing change to thoughts and opinion.
